Street Angels / 少女黨 (1999)

SYNOPSIS: ”The story revolves around the lives of five teenage girls in Singapore, between 14 and 17 years of age from different family backgrounds. It tells of their experiences during this rebellious phase of their lives, when they seek to assert their independence from family, school and society. They do so by forming a gang and living by the rules of the Gang. They hang out at discos for fun, fight with other gangs when their interests are threatened and steal for a living.”
(Written by L.H. Wong / IMDb).

Directed by David Lam, written by David Lam and Kai-Kee Wong (as Kai Gay Wong), with Cinematography by Ardy Lam, you can view the entire cast and crew listed here on IMDb.
This feature starred Grace Yip (Zoe), Justine Liow (Dinnie), Melody Chen (Ivy), Rosalind Pho (Jan Jan) and Sherlin Ho (Lim Ah-Mei), and guest starred Nicholas Tse (as himself), thanks to whom we might still be able to find footage of this film on the www (his very limited appearances), beyond online video hosting platforms such as "YouTube".

"Street Angels / 少女黨 / Shao nu dang" was my third feature film project, for which I was credited as "Art Director" (uncredited in final film as "Production Designer"), and remains my sole Mandarin speaking film (dubbed in Mandarin).

I have not come across any official VCDs or DVD for the film (Nor do I know they exist, but I have tried looking though!), BUT I had managed to purchase a bootleg VCD years back (unable to playback now, unfoortunately).

UPDATED: There was a full length version of the film uploaded on YouTube (which I had posted on this blog a while back, and where the above screengrab of my credits were from), but has since been deleted off YT. Now there is no visual archive or record of the film to have ever existed, with not even a "trailer", frustratingly so. The only "records" right now that I have of the film's existence, are these behind-the-scenes scans of "conti"("continuity")-polaroids, and this is a frightening situation.
